    What is Cytomel used for?

Cytomel Thyroid Medication is used in the treatment of hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). It provides more or replaces thyroid hormone which is usually produced by the thyroid gland. Cytomel (liothyronine) is a manufactured form of the thyroid hormone. Decreased levels of thyroid hormone can be naturally occurring or when the gland sustains an injury due to medications/radiation or surgically removed. Using Cytomel to achieve the correct amount of thyroid hormone will help with your health. In children, the appropriate amount of thyroid hormone helps them develop/learn normally. Liothyronine can also be used in the treatment of other kinds of thyroid issues (thyroid cancer, some kinds of goiters). It is also commonly used for some kinds of thyroid disease. Unless infertility is caused by low thyroid hormone levels this medication should not be used for infertility treatment.

    How to Use Cytomel?

Cytomel Thyroid Medication should be taken orally as instructed by your doctor. Regular use of liothyronine will lead to the best results. Products containing magnesium or aluminum, sucralfate, antacids, bile acid-binding resins, iron simethicone, sodium polystyrene sulfonate, among others can decrease the absorption of liothyronine.
