    Norvir (Ritonavir) Information

    How to Use Ritonavir?

Before taking Ritonavir for the first time, make sure you read the patient information leaflet and understand how to use the medication. If anything is unclear, call your doctor or pharmacist as correct use of the drug will provide the best results.

It is usually taken by mouth once twice a day with food. If you are taking another HIV drug, take it with Ritonavir. Do not crush, chew or split the tablets unless instructed to do so. Your dose will depend on your condition and may change based on the results of treatment. It may also come in an oral solution.

It works best when taken consistently every day. If you forget to take a dose of Ritonavir, you can take it when you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take an extra dose to make up for it. Taking too much medication will not improve your condition and can lead to an increased risk of side effects.
