What is Uloric (Febuxostat) used for?
Uloric is used to reduce uric acid production for patients with gout. Reducing uric acid levels can prevent Gout symptoms. This is often prescribed when you cannot take other medications or when they do not work.
Uloric can lead to other health problems but can be prescribed if gout symptoms are severe. If you are taking this for a different reason, ask your doctor which condition Uloric is meant to treat. Do not share this medication with others even if they have similar symptoms.
This may not be an effective treatment and can lead to adverse reactions. Your doctor may have to monitor your blood uric acid level periodically, especially if you experience gout flares after taking Uloric. Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart problems and liver problems or heart attack.

How to Use Uloric?
Your doctor will advise you on how to take Uloric and it’s warning and precaution when prescribing it. The manufacturer also provides a drug information leaflet included with the packaging.
Your dose is determined based on your condition and whether or not there are benefits to treatment. Uloric needs to be taken consistently to get the ideal results.
If you happen to miss a dose, you can take it when you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the dose you missed and continue with your schedule. Do not take a second dose to “catch up” with treatment. This will not provide any benefit and may result in more frequent or severe side effects.
